"Deepen the ability to listen to your soul." Sri Swamiji

Mauna means silence, stillness. This means stillness of the mind in the context of Indian philosophy. In the spiritual practise of various religions, including Christian and Buddhist traditions, silence is considered one of the most difficult practises. During the Mauna Seminar, we consciously decide not to speak and to turn our attention inwards. Silence helps us to control our sense organs. In these hectic times it is especially beneficial and important that our thoughts and emotions calm down. This gives us a powerful and easy to use 'tool' to balance the demands of daily life. In this 3 day seminar in silence we have the opportunity to be silent in the presence of Sri Swamiji and experience deep stillness. A participant of the 2019 Mauna Seminar wrote: "It was life changing for so many of us. A permanent reference point happened for me with my Atman, and the silence was so deep and Swamiji’s presence so powerful that a conscious connection developed that was an entire change in my spiritual practise."

Seminar Information

Seminar participants are silent the whole day, including during lunch. They can deepen the experience by being silent in the evenings and in their rooms. During the seminar they have time to meditate or silently go for a walk. Sri Swamiji gives specific instructions for each particular seminar. He is present most of the time and recommends participants to spend as much time as possible in the seminar room.

In accordance with his instructions, the meals will be 'sattvic'. That means light, freshly prepared food will be served, that is neither spicy, sour nor salty. The Hotel Kurhaus will offer an appropriate menu, with a choice of vegetarian or vegan.

Seminar Costs

The seminar costs Swiss Francs 350 (CHF) per participant. There is an early bird discount of CHF 30 for bookings made before 31 August 2024. However, above amount should not be an obstacle to participation. If needed the cost can be reduced. Susanna Savitri Sarasin can be contacted for enquiries: mauna2025@dyc.ch.
